Editorial Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-Assisted Technologies
1. Scope and Applicability
This policy applies to all authors submitting manuscripts to the Global and Stochastic Analysis (GSA), as well as to peer reviewers and editorial board members. GSA adheres to international publishing ethics guidelines, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
2. Guidelines for Authors
Permitted Uses of AI
Authors are permitted to use AI and AI-assisted technologies (such as Large Language Models, machine translation tools, or editing software) strictly for improving the readability and language of the manuscript.
Prohibited Uses of AI
Authorship Status: AI tools, algorithms, and chatbots cannot be listed as an author or co-author. Authorship entails accountability for the work, which AI cannot assume.
Data and Results Generation: AI must not be used to generate, fabricate, or falsify data, experimental results, or mathematical proofs.
Peer Review & Citation Manipulation: AI tools should not be used to automatically generate citations or manipulate references.
Mandatory Disclosure
If authors use AI or AI-assisted technologies in the research process, drafting, or language polishing, they must transparently disclose this in the manuscript.
A dedicated "Declaration of AI and AI-Assisted Technologies" section must be included before the References.
Authors must state the name of the tool, version, model, and the specific sections of the manuscript where it was utilized.
3. Guidelines for Peer Reviewers
Confidentiality and Data Security: Reviewers must not upload unpublished manuscripts, figures, or data from GSA submissions into public or generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, etc.), as doing so violates peer-review confidentiality and data privacy agreements.
Review Generation: Reviewers are expected to write their review reports based on their own critical analysis and expertise. Relying entirely on AI to generate peer review evaluations is strictly prohibited.
4. Editorial Responsibilities
Editors reserve the right to screen submissions using specialized AI detection and plagiarism screening tools (such as Turnitin).
Any failure to disclose AI usage or suspected unethical application of AI will be investigated thoroughly in alignment with COPE guidelines, which may result in desk rejection or retraction of published papers.
